Participants needed
---------------------------
Native English speaker,
Right handed
---------------------------
If you are Native English Speaker, and Right Handed,
you are invited to participate in this ERP experiment
=============================
Sorry if you have taken the behavior or fMRI version of this experiment,
you cannot participant this ERP version of the same experiment now
=============================
Basically, the task is very simple: you will see a sequence of 4 letters,
such as A C B D, and you will see a number, say, 24. What you need to do is
to exchange the letters in the 2nd and 4th locations (because the number is
24), so the answer is A D B C.
Sometimes, however, it is not a number, but a word, say 'We'. Based on a
word-number pair list which you should learn and remember, 'We' means 24,
so you will type the same answer.
This experiment needs your time in two CONSECUTIVE days:
(1) Learning and practice (about 1 hour), at BH 345A, CMU
-- Remember 12 word-number pairs, such as we-24, and practice the
experiment task (it will last about one hour, but it really depends on how
fast your can remember these 12 word-number pairs). The location is BH
345A, CMU.
(2) EEG recording session, (about 1.5 hours) at LRDC, Pitt
Electroencephalography (EEG) signal will be recorded from the electrodes on
the scalp, while you are performing the tasks. There will be about 60 min
recording period plus about 30 min for preparation etc. before and after
the recording.
The payment will be between $26 and $36, depending on your performance; the
average level is $30.
Available recording slots:
2-3:30pm, Tuesday, Oct 1
2-3:30pm, Wednesday, Oct 2
2-3:30pm, Thursday, Oct 3
2-3:30pm, Friday, Oct 4
If interested, please reply me by email and tell me which day you prefer
for the recording, and the time for the practice on the day before the
recording day.
Thanks,
