Latin/Ballroom Dancing for Kids

Hey folks,

For those of you with younger brothers or sisters, or for those of you with
children of your own, there's going to be a new group dance class for kids
ages 8-17 starting at the Art and Style Dance Studio (at 20 S. 14th Street)
on the South Side.

It will provide beginners' lessons in latin dancing (samba, rumba, cha-cha,
paso doble, jive) and ballroom dancing (waltz, foxtrot, tango, viennese
waltz). Taught by nationally and internationally-ranked professional
dancers, Rozana and Terry Sweeney, the class will provide an excellent
introduction to dancing for kids who would just like to learn the basics,
or to those who decide that they'd like to continue working on their
dancing and perhaps one day enter dancesport competitions. It's great
exercise, a lot of fun, a wonderful confidence builder, and a good venue
for making new friends. (Note: this is *not* the white glove, suit &
party dress, bow and curtsy type of dance class. It's more of an
introduction to dancesport, and is *much* more kid-friendly and energetic
than the traditional type of dance class that we all tend to envision when
we think of partner dance classes for kids.)

The beginner dance classes will start in October. The fee is $45 for 6
classes. To register, please call Rozana Sweeney at 412-821-2267, or send
email to sweeney@dancestyle.com. If you register by September 30th, a free
class is included.
