Speak Your Mind is a series of discussions and dinners which focus on issues of diversity in a comfortable and casual environment. Join us for the next Speak Your Mind discussion <b><i>United Farm Workers: A Decade Since Chavez</i></b> facilitated by Prof. John Soluri, History Department. The discussion and dinner will take place on <b><i>Tuesday, October 15th from 5:30-7pm in the Henderson House lounge</i></b>. <br>

2003 will mark the 10th anniversary of the death of Cesar Chavez, the founder of the United Farm Workers Union. This discussion will revolve around the status of Latino/a farmworkers over the past ten years. Specific topics will include immigration, on-going legislative efforts in California to strengthen farmworkers' rights to collective bargaining, and the possibilities for coalition-building among farmworker advocates and organic food supporters.<br>
